Currency - The Euro, 1eu = 100 cents.
Weather - Sightseeing can be hard work for some in July and August, especially in the middle of the day, when temperatures regularly top 30 degrees centigrade. The upside, of course, is that the weather stays pleasantly warm throughout the winter months and is just about perfect during spring and autumn.
Airports - Fiumicino (South East of Rome). Trains run at least every 20 minutes to central Rome and take between half an hour an forty minutes. Taxis cost about ten times the price of trains and usually take 45 minutes.
- Ciampino. A bus hop and metro ride fetch visitors to the centre in about 40 minutes, taxis in around 25 minutes.
