Introduction
It's true that the Moderno
offers higher comfort levels than most in its mid-price category, but
the main reason for choosing this smart hotel is its Puerta del Sol location,
a to-die-for setting that's slap bang in the middle of Madrid and all
its attractions.
Location
Not only is the Puerta
del Sol in the very heart of historical Madrid, it is also the official
centre of the whole of Spain. The Moderno is right next to Puerto del
Sol and thus close to nearly every major tourist attraction in town from
the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (five minutes walk),
a museum whose regal title mirrors the standard of exhibits behind its
doors; to the world famous El Prado (ten minutes), as well as the Royal
Palace (5 mins) and a whole lot more besides. Also nearby is Madrid's
main shopping area which hosts names like Calle Del Carmen and El Corte
Ingles.
