Introduction
Smack bang in the middle
of the beautiful medieval town of Brugge, this former mansion built in
1869 now houses the family-run Hotel Heritage. Following a total renovation
the property is now back to its original splendour. The reception rooms
(restaurant, lounge and bar) are full of character with knock-out restored
ceilings and dramatic chandeliers. The house has a 14th century cellar
with special arches, stones from which are now displayed at the museum
of the archaeological society.
Location
Centrally located near
the Market Square (50 metres away) and within easy walking distance of
the historic town centre and its buildings and canals. The nearest ferry
ports Zeebrugge and Oostende are a short transfer away. Brugge is an hour's
drive from the Channel Tunnel and the ferries of Calais. Once here take
a trip to Gent, the former trade and administrative centre (half an hour's
drive away) and the present day Belgian capital, Brussels (an hour by
car).
Bedrooms
The 20 cleanly presented
rooms are nicely sized and most have high ceilings, as befits a building
of this age and character. The list of in-room facilities is strong: Colour-TV,
air conditioning, telephone, mini-bar, safe, connection for PC and modem,
trouser press, iron facilities, hairdryer and en-suite bathroom with bath/shower.
Restaurants
Belgian food is second to none. Guests start the day with a tasty buffet
breakfast in the elegant 1869 restaurant. The hotel does not serve lunch
or evening dinner, but visitors can sample one of the many fine restaurants
in the town. Ask for a recommendation from the helpful hotel staff or
simply take a stroll through the cobbled streets until you find the place
of your choice. Moules Frites (Mussels with French fries) is a great local
dish.
Business Facilities
A conference room for up to 30 people is available.
