Introduction
A converted marine warehouse
from the turn of the century, the Admiral is
the most characteristic of Bergen’s hotels. Rebuilt in 1987, The
Admiral is
now Bergen’s only true harbour-side hotel. From most windows guests
enjoy
views of the harbour, Bryggen and the fish market.
Location
Situated in the heart
of Bergen, most tourist attractions an easy stroll
from the hotel. The famous Fish Market, World Heritage listed Bryggen,
and
the Mount Floyen funicula are all an easy 5 minute walk along the harbour.
'Gateway to the Fjords' boat rides can be caught from Bergen's main dock
less than 200 meters from the hotel. Bergen Airport is 10km, and the train
station 1 km.
Bedrooms
The hotel’s 210
rooms are all individual in character and equipped with
first-class comforts. Harbour views must be requested. Special rooms are
available for allergic persons.
Restaurants
The world class chefs at “Sjotonnem” tempt guests with signature
tastes from
the sea. The hotel’s own cognac and cigar bar, “Sorensen,”
is the only of
its kind in Bergen. Upon request, gala dinners can be arranged on the
Admiral’s own quay, at one meter above sea-level. For a less upscale
meal,
try “Restaurant Emily.”
Business Facilities
All meeting rooms have large bay windows, and are equipped with video
conferencing facilities. The conference wing’s own foyer is complete
with a
bar, and casual seating. For extra special occasions, the Admiral’s
own
yacht is available.
