Introduction
Bergen's oldest family-run hotel, the Augustin combines old world charm with modern sophistication. The Altona tavern, local haunt to Bergen artists and concertmasters during the 17th century, has been creatively incorporated into the hotel. Drawing upon its creative heritage, art and modernity remain of utmost importance at the Augustin. Original masterpieces of contemporary Norwegian art can be found throughout.

Location
Centrally situated in the shopping and harbour area, guests are never far from Bergen's main attractions. The famous Fish Market, World Heritage listed Bryggen, and the Mount Floyen furnicular are all an easy 5 minute walk along the harbour. 'Gateway to the Fjords' boat rides can be caught from Bergen's main dock less than 300 metres from the hotel. Bergen Airport is 10km, and the train station 1 km.

Bedrooms
Innovative room designs by Bergen-born architect Aud Hunskar ensure that style is key. The accommodation is both practical and appealing, emphasising bright colour and open space. Each room is adorned with original paintings and sculptures and the award-winning doors were handcrafted using four different woods. Some north-facing rooms have harbour views.

Restaurants
Choose the rustic styled Kjobmandsstuen (the Merchants' Rooms) restaurant which offers a rich and varied menu of traditional fish specialities and grill dishes. The Augustin Hotel has two popular restaurants in central Bergen's biggest shopping centre, Galleriet: Augustus Conditori & Lunchsalon and Spiskammerset (the Larder). The Altona (wine cellar) opens at 6, and serves light dishes.
