Introduction
A modern hotel in the
heart of Basel's Old Town, Hotel Basel scores highly for its range of

Location
The picturesque and central
Marktplatz is just one minute's walk from the hotel. A couple of minutes
further is the Rhine. Also within walking distance are most of Basel's
main historic sights, such as the cathedral, town hall and a variety of
museums. Hotel Basel is five minutes by tram from the Swiss, German and
French railway stations and no more than a quarter of an hour by taxi
from the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg.
Bedrooms
Cleanly decorated, stylish
rooms come with air-conditioning, cable TV, radio, ISDN phone, mini-bar,
hairdryer and safe. Some rooms also have fax lines. Suites are available.
Restaurants
The hotel's main restaurant is the Basler Keller, which serves top class
cuisine and boasts an excellent wine list. There's also the Brasserie
Steiger for more traditional Swiss food in more casual atmosphere and
the Sperber, an old-style bar that provides light meals and snacks alongside
a wide range of good beers and wines plus live jazz music.
Business Facilities
Two elegant meeting rooms/banqueting
halls each seating 25 people are available for seminars as well as for
private lunches and dinners. One features a pretty inner courtyard.
